Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Important: Not Investment Advice
STAKD is a portfolio tracking tool. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using STAKD ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
STAKD is a cloud-based, open-source crypto portfolio tracker with client-side encryption. The Service helps you monitor holdings, allocation, and rebalance-related data.
3. Access and Credentials
Access is controlled by credentials you create (such as username and passphrase). You are solely responsible for maintaining credential confidentiality and security.
4. Encryption and Data Availability
Sensitive vault data is encrypted client-side before transmission. Because of this architecture, we cannot recover lost passphrases or decrypt your private vault content.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful activity
- Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- Interfere with service availability, performance, or security
- Abuse APIs, automation, or infrastructure in a way that degrades service for others
6. No Investment Advice
STAKD provides tools, analytics, and data visualization only. The Service does not provide investment recommendations, portfolio management, trading signals, or fiduciary services.
Any decision to buy, sell, hold, rebalance, or allocate assets is made entirely by you. You are solely responsible for evaluating risks, costs, taxes, and legal obligations.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or accuracy/completeness of market data.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, STAKD is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including trading losses, lost profits, or lost data resulting from Service use.
9. Open-Source License
STAKD is released under the MIT License. You may use, modify, and distribute the software under that license.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
